چکیده
On behalf of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), and in particular its Commission on Atomic Weights and Isotopic Abundances, I should like to inform the readers of the Journal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the following, based on Refs. [1] and [2]. To eliminate possible confusion in the reporting of isotopic abundances on noncorresponding scales, the Commission on Atomic Weights and Isotopic Abundances of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) recommended at the IUPAC 37th General Assembly in August 1993 at Lisbon, Portugal, that (i) H/H relative ratios of all substances be expressed relative to VSMOW (Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water) on a scale such that H/H of SLAP (Standard Light Antarctic Precipitation) is 0.572 times that of VSMOW; (ii) C/C relative ratios of all substances be expressed relative to VPDB (Vienna Peedee belemnite) on a scale such that C/C of NBS19-limestone (RM 8544) is 1.00195 times that of VPDB; and (iii) O/O ratios of all substances be expressed relative to either VSMOW or VPDB on scales such that O/O of SLAP is 0.9445 times that of VSMOW. As a consequence, the Commission recommends that researchers should:

Calling all archaeologists: guidelines for terminology, methodology, data handling, and reporting when undertaking and reviewing stable isotope applications in archaeology
Stable isotope analysis has been utilized in archaeology since the 1970s, yet standardized protocols for terminology, sampling, pretreatment evaluation, calibration, quality assurance and control, data presentation, and graphical or statistical treatment still remain lacking in archaeological applications. Here, we present recommendations and requirements for each of these in the archaeological...

Catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) has recently received particular attention because it is one of the most attractive technologies for the production of syngas and hydrogen in small to medium scales. Current study subjected to partial oxidation reforming which have simultaneously studied the effect of the fuel composition and flow rates of methane-oxygen mixed gas on the SOFCs performances. In...
متن کاملStable Isotope Application in Animal Nutrition Science
The application of stable isotope analysis (SIA) has become a standard scientific approach in Agricultural and Ecological researches and, more in general, in several disciplines such as biology, botany, zoology, organic chemistry, climatology, and nutrition. The main objectives of this paper are (1) to provide a simple definition of stable isotopes and (2) to illustrate analytical measurement m...

After 2004 and 2008 (Vols. 378/2 and 390/2) this is the third issue of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry to contain papers on new developments and applications in isotope ratio measurements. Whereas Klaus Heumann was guest editor for the two previous special issues, in this issue Torsten Schmidt joins him as guest editor for the first time. His involvement with this collection of papers st...
